  1. I had him for corporate criminality. The class was interesting, but I think he often didn’t get very deep into the cases. The practical portions were interesting and I learned a lot from those. He also wears his prosecutor role on his sleeve, so that is something to know going into the class.

  2. I had him for civ pro and I really liked him! I agree that he didn’t go deep into the cases, he really focused more on how to apply the cases. I think if you like more practical law classes he’s great, if you’re looking for more academic theory/doctrinal stuff not so much.

  3. currently have him for civ pro and am extremely frustrated. The course is disorganized and we’re left not knowing anything. We’ve brought up concerns to both him and Dean Seinfeld with little to no improvements.

  4. Hurley is pretty polarizing. He’s not really a “students’ teacher” and is very clearly teaching from a practical perspective. His course expectations (if you take an upper-level) can be really….blurry, but otherwise I had fun in his class. I also didn’t think he was great at teaching civ pro, but I did fine relying on supplements.
