I had Nannes for hot topics in mergers. I loved it! The material was super interesting. The readings were pretty long but fair and not too difficult. Classes were often just Nannes lecturing us through the readings, which maybe wasn’t the most effective use of time (he’s not the MOST engaging speaker). But it was ok, because he had fun anecdotes. He was very amenable to answering questions, which actually was not great because there were a few students who asked wayyyyyy too many questions and he always entertained them. Nannes was great in office hours, though, at explaining concepts. He also is really eager to help students with their career/internships; he put me in touch with multiple people in my field of choice, and offered to continue to be a resource into the future. The exam was fair and grading pretty lenient. I think I put more work into it than 1 credit worth of work, but perhaps just because I enjoyed the material so much.
