I enjoyed this clinic a lot. You are most likely not going to get into court if you take this clinic, but you have excellent autonomy and get to see some very interesting tax controversies. The workload is also very manageable. Professor Appleberry is excellent to work for, and the class portion is also quite easy. This was my most rewarding class since I actually got an opportunity to change the lives of my clients for the better. If you have interest in the subject, I recommend this clinic.
Took this Clinic and completely agree with the points made on the Oct. 29, 2020 review. Nicole is a wonderful person – she is always responsive, takes the time to get to know you, and realizes personal lives/livelihood are a lot more important than anything in law school. You also learn a good amount about tax issues and have some in-depth client work/interaction. While you don’t have a partner in this clinic, I found it kind of nice because you can work on your stuff on your own time. Also, the workload is very manageable, and Nicole/upper level clinicians are more than willing to help if you are ever struggling/confused.
