  1. Literally kindest and most effective teacher I have ever had. Torts was a genuine pleasure with her and she works so hard to ensure that students really understand the law. Run, don’t walk to take any class she ever offers.

  2. Definitely agree with the commenter above! Sommers is the best professor I’ve had in law school so far. Picks thoughtful readings (not just chapters from some terrible casebook), tests student knowledge with frequent hypos in class, and really wants to make sure that students are understanding the material. Great prof.

  3. I really enjoyed Sommers and Torts, but she wasn’t entirely clear about the black letter law, which made studying for the exam a bit stressful. So don’t hesitate to go to office hours to clarify things.

  4. I really liked Professor Sommers’ torts class. She is interesting and she makes the class fun. She always did a ton of hypos that involved the students (which was so much fun) and involved everyone. She also gave you a heads up when you were going to be cold called, which I appreciated. I think she’s fairly new to MLaw, and there were definitely some things that the class gave her feedback on — she adjusted to most of it and the class definitely improved after that. My only semi-critique is that she would sometimes let student discussions go on for too long. I think she liked seeing us argue different sides from a psychological perspective. But that is her background so it makes sense!
