Prof not understanding of unavoidable conflicts/emergencies/etc. Curves (Children and the law) even though its not necessary. Class discussions were good, reading load very reasonable.
Grading was arbitrary for a simulation class (Fam Law Sim). It felt like he didn’t really ever take the time to truly evaluate anything–never actually got back one piece of written feedback even though we turned in multiple written motions.
Very passionate, very understanding. The anti-professor in many ways. But, also has unrealistic expectations. And, in trying to do too much at once he makes himself worse.
Vivek is an incredible lawyer, mentor, and professor. It’s hard to understand how he remains so positive when he does such difficult work in the child welfare world. He is known across the country for his child welfare work, and he’s one of the most earnest professors I’ve ever had. He is supportive yet never over-bearing. One of the best UMich has.
Agree with above. Incredibly earnest, pure-hearted, positive, inspiring. Outstanding mentor and a professor. One of the best that the MLaw has. MLaw is lucky.

Not the best professor, not the worst. Smart, but doesn’t clearly convey his points and questions.
